Therapy for Young Adults and Adults Who Are Tired of Holding It All Together
You appear strong, capable, and successful on the outside, but inside you may feel overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from yourself. Therapy is a space to slow down, feel supported, and begin healing with intention and care.

WELCOME TO AID IN HEALING
WELLNESS & PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES
You Don’t Have to Do This Alone.
- Many of the clients I work with are individuals who feel pressure to perform, provide, and stay composed—even when they are struggling internally. You may be navigating chronic stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, different life transitions, or relational challenges while continuing to show up for work, family, and others. Therapy offers a space where you no longer have to hold everything together. Together, we focus on understanding what you’re experiencing, addressing root causes, and helping you feel more grounded, clear, and emotionally supported in your daily life.
Services Overview
I provide individual psychotherapy for adults who are seeking support with emotional well-being, stress, and healing in their personal or relational lives. I offer a collaborative, compassionate space grounded in evidence-based practices, with attention to the broader systems that shape our experiences, including trauma and culture.
Individual Therapy for Anxiety & Chronic Stress
- Anxiety can show up as constant worry, overthinking, irritability, sleep difficulty, or physical tension. In therapy, we work to understand your anxiety patterns, develop practical coping skills, and help you feel more present and regulated in your day-to-day life.
Depression & Emotional Numbness
- Depression can feel heavy, isolating, and difficult to name—especially when life looks “fine” from the outside. Therapy provides support in processing emotional pain, increasing self-understanding, and reconnecting with meaning, motivation, and hope.
Life Transitions & Identity Shifts
- Transitions such as career changes, relationship shifts, relocation, or role changes can create uncertainty and emotional strain. Therapy offers a space to process change, clarify values, and navigate transitions with greater confidence and self-compassion.
Trauma-Informed Therapy
I provide trauma-informed therapy for individuals whose past experiences—whether acute or ongoing—continue to affect how they relate to themselves, others, and the world around them. My approach emphasizes emotional safety, thoughtful pacing, and collaborative treatment, while supporting nervous system regulation, self-understanding, and meaningful psychological healing.
What Clients Often Gain from Therapy
While each person’s therapeutic process is unique, many clients report increased emotional awareness, improved coping skills, reduced distress, and a greater sense of clarity and stability over time. Therapy can support you in understanding long-standing patterns, responding to stress more effectively, and developing a healthier relationship with yourself and others.
A Thoughtful, Compassionate Approach to Psychological Care

About Dr. Edden Agonafer, PsyD, MA
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with experience supporting individuals across community mental health, healthcare, academic, and private practice settings. My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens best in spaces that are attuned, respectful, and responsive to the whole person.
WHY I DO THIS WORK & My approach
I was drawn to psychology through a deep interest in understanding how people carry stress, trauma, and responsibility—often silently—while continuing to function in demanding environments. Throughout my clinical work, I have seen how unaddressed emotional strain can affect mental health, relationships, and overall quality of life.
My goal is to provide a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, supported, and able to slow down enough to do meaningful inner work.
I prioritize creating a nonjudgmental and supportive environment where clients feel safe exploring difficult experiences at their own pace.
CREDENTIALS
I hold a doctorate in clinical psychology and am licensed to practice in the state of California. I also have experience teaching and supervising in graduate-level clinical training programs, which informs my commitment to ethical, thoughtful, and high-quality care.
How it Works
Through our therapeutic work together, we focus on supporting emotional healing, increasing self-understanding, and strengthening your capacity to navigate life with greater balance, clarity, and overall well-being.
1
Schedule a Consultation
You don’t have to decide about therapy without first getting a sense of how we would work together. A brief consultation provides an opportunity to ask questions, share what you’re seeking support for, and explore whether therapy with me feels like a good fit.
2
Complete Intake Paperwork
Prior to your first session, you will complete intake and consent forms that provide important background information and help ensure that therapy is ethical, informed, and tailored to your needs.
3
Intake Session and Collaborative Goal-Setting
During the intake session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, review relevant history, and collaboratively identify areas to focus on as we begin the therapeutic process.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you’re new to therapy, it’s natural to feel unsure about what to expect. The questions below address common concerns and are intended to provide clarity about the process. I’m also happy to discuss any additional questions during your initial consultation or first session.
What can I expect in therapy?
Therapy sessions provide a confidential space to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your needs, goals, and pace.
What is confidentiality?
Confidentiality is a foundational part of therapy. Information shared in sessions is private and protected by law and professional ethics. Your personal information and the content of therapy sessions are not disclosed without your written consent.
Limits to Confidentiality
There are specific situations in which confidentiality may be legally or ethically required to be broken. These include circumstances involving risk of serious harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse or neglect of a child, dependent adult, or elder, or when disclosure is otherwise required by law. These limits to confidentiality are reviewed in detail during the intake process, and you are encouraged to ask questions at any time.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you feel overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally drained, or are struggling to manage stress or relationships, therapy may be helpful. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from support.
Do you offer in-person or virtual therapy sessions?
I currently offer virtual therapy sessions only. Therapy is provided through a secure telehealth platform for clients who are physically located in the state of California.
Please note that appointments must be scheduled while you are physically located within the state of California. This requirement is in accordance with licensing regulations, as therapists licensed in California are restricted from providing services across state borders.
What are your fees for therapy sessions?
Session fees range from $200–$225, depending on the length and type of session. Fee details are reviewed during the consultation and outlined in the intake paperwork so you can make an informed decision before beginning therapy. Payment is due at the time of service.
Do you accept insurance?
I am currently in-network with Aetna. I am also able to provide services as an out-of-network provider for clients who have out-of-network benefits. At this time, I do not accept other insurance plans. I encourage clients to contact their insurance provider directly to better understand their coverage and reimbursement options.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations or rescheduled appointments require at least 24 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, may be subject to the full session fee, as outlined in the practice policies.
Insurance clients are responsible for the full session fee for late cancellations or missed appointments, as insurance companies do not cover these fees.
