Meet Dr. Edden

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who believes deeply in the healing potential of therapy—not only as a clinician, but also as someone who has personally engaged in the therapeutic process. My work is shaped by the understanding that healing is not one-dimensional. It unfolds across individual experiences, cultural and communal contexts, family systems, and, for many, spiritual meaning.

I grew up in a large family, which naturally shaped how I understand relationships, roles, and emotional dynamics. From an early age, I observed how individual well-being is often deeply connected to family systems and broader relational patterns. This perspective continues to inform my therapeutic approach, helping me attend not only to personal symptoms, but also to the relational and contextual factors that influence how people cope, connect, and heal.

My path to psychology was further shaped by my education at The University of Texas at Austin and Fuller Theological Seminary, where I studied human development, psychology, intercultural studies, and the integration of psychology and faith. These experiences, combined with my clinical work in school-based counseling, community mental health, healthcare systems, and higher education settings, have reinforced my commitment to thoughtful, culturally responsive care.

In therapy, I strive to create a space that feels grounded, collaborative, and human. I recognize that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, and I approach the work with care, curiosity, and respect for each client’s lived experience. Together, we focus on understanding what you are carrying and supporting healing in ways that feel meaningful and sustainable for you.

Outside of my professional work, I value time with loved ones and enjoy being active and outdoors. I love going to the beach and hiking, playing soccer, traveling, learning about different cultures, and watching football (Hook ’Em Horns). I also spend plenty of time with my dog, Kenji, who is a constant reminder to slow down and stay present.

A Note on
Therapy vs. Life Coaching

Participating in therapy is not the same as seeing a life coach. Therapy addresses and heals areas of life that are significantly impacted while coaching focuses on enhancing the quality of life without unpacking past experiences and pains. A life coach offers insight and motivation for change while a therapist (e.g., psychologist, social worker, marriage and family therapist) provides treatment to provide support on various and potentially long-standing issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, eating-related disorders, and complex relationship issues.
